Koma Komplex sequencer
Koma Komplex sequencer - I like it! video upload by David Morley
"I decided to change my analogue sequencer from a Fenix III to a Koma Komplex. After 11 years with the Fenix, I think it was time to travel new paths.
It's a seriously great sequencer. I'll try and do a series of videos on this. Each showing a sequence with some feature being profiled.

Big Briar 331 Touchpad by Bob Moog with Synton 3000 Modular synthesizer
David Morley
"The Big Briar company was created by Bob Moog after he left Moog. He sold Synton synthesisers and the 331 touchpad was created to be used with the 3000 system. I just cleaned mine, so decided to test it. A very short video, but no doubt highly interesting to 7 people. I'm triggering the Fenix III sequencer and controlling the filter cutoff and LFO speed with the touchpad."

It's Yellow, It's Fat, It's got a Knob. The DSTEC Original Syn Analog monosynth
David Morley
"The DSTEC Original Syn came out in 1999. A 3 VCO midi controlled monosynth. Classic monosynth architecture with a few tricks.. Demo uses the DSI Tempest for Drums and a simple bass note from the SE1. The main sequenc is the DSTEC. Kawai K5000s for pad. Enjoy!"

Fairlight CMI IIX Page R demo and overview - The worlds most important sequencer?
David Morley
"The Fairlight CMI was the worlds first commercial sampler, but in the context of how it changed music, probably the most important part was Page R. This is an awful piece of musical creation on my CMI IIx, but it hopefully shows you how Page R works and I also offer an overview of the other pages available on the CMI system. For nerds only!
My IIx used to belong to Kim Wilde and has been restored by Jean-Bernard Emond in France. An amazing machine and so much fun. The "musical" example here is just that, an example. Hopefully I will post some more musical adventures in the future."

Moogerfooger Phaser - Using Control Voltage with the Moog Phaser
Published on May 2, 2020 David Morley
"The Moogerfooger Phaser from Bob Moog is a great unit that allows control voltage of many features. In this example I use my DSI Tempest to play a simple sequence which is then passed through the phaser and voltage controlled from my Schrittmacher sequencer creating a kind of S&H effect. Enjoy!"

Creating a super simple patch on a modular synthesizer - Synton Fenix
Published on Apr 24, 2020 David Morley
"Creating a super simple patch on a modular synthesizer
How to patch a modular synth. Demonstrated on the Synton Fenix Modular synthesizer. Not particularly exciting for experienced synthesists, or those with experience, but perhaps it shows the basics of how to create a simple classic synth sound on almost any modular synth. I hope you find it useful.
Edited by Amber Morley
At the end I go a bit of script :-)
Enjoy, like and share if you feel so inclined!
Stay well and stay safe."

"A small multitracked demo of my Synton College modular Synthesizer.
These were made in very small numbers approx 40 years ago. Sequences by a Serge TKB.
The college is a very well specified portable synth. 2 vco, a multimode filter, ring mod, adsr, mixers, LFO, sample & hold, vca, noise etc"

Roland R8 MK2 drum machine programming
Published on Mar 16, 2019 David Morley
"Programming real time pitch and decay parameters on the Roland R8 mk2 Almost identical on the mk1. An amazing drum machine with great sequencer features. I do get asked a lot about how to do this, so hopefully you can see how to record the real time slider."

Synton 3000 Modular Synthesizer
Published on Jan 10, 2019 David Morley
"Rebuilding a Synth 3000 modular synthesiser.
Using the Serge TKB to sequence it. The Filter is the 3017 being swept between lowpass, notch and bandpass.
The 3000 modular system was used by Bob Moog to demonstrate synthesis after he left the Moog company. This entire system has 75 modules.

"Here is a demo of the ARP 2500 modular I made. No other instrument was used.
My objective was to show off the range of the instrument in a musical context.
Please visit http://www.davidmorley.com and check out my other works and a better quality version of 'Shipping News'
My music is published by Bug Music in London http://www.bugmusic.com
The video was something I knocked up in iMovie just in Sequencing was performed with the ARP sequencers.
Multitracked in Logic 8. Mixed on my D&R Orion desk. Reverb came from my EMT 246 and an Eventide H3000 was used for delay."

"An ambient piece written entirely on the EMS VCS3 synth.
No other sound sources. Delay from the Dynacord VRS 23.

A lot of low end energy...so try headphones or a decent sound system..
Enjoy!"

Tascam 388 - Fenix Modular Synth - Dynacord VRS23
Published on Feb 9, 2017 David Morley
"I was setting up my Tascam 388 (or Studio 8) and decided to record a small sequence I had setup. The fenix patch was playing 3 parts, the Kick and 2 sequences. I recorded that in one take anonto 3 tracks and overdubbed the Waldorf XTk twice. Effects are an analog delay pedal and the Dynacord VRS23 for reverb.
I did it mainly to test the 388, so the tune is dead simple, but hopefully it shows how nice the 388 records. Enjoy!"

Modor NF-1 Strings
Published on Aug 14, 2015 David Morley
"Modor NF-1 Synthesiser String Patch - No external effects. Modor straight to hard disk.
It starts with 1 oscillator and then I bring in the second and third.
The video is out of sync with the audio by about 4 bars! No idea why. Seems to be something iMovie and youtube upload did."

Modor NF 1 Digital Polyphonic Synthesizer Demonstration song
Published on Aug 13, 2015 David Morley
"A tune made entirely on the Modor NF-1 Synthesizer. The only extra stuff was a Reverb. Not aiming for a Grammy with it (pretty chilled and typical) but hopefully it shows somewhat how flexible the Modor NF-1 is. The Modor NF-1 is a Digital Polyphonic (8 voice) synthesiser from Belgium. It has 3 Oscillators which have classic analogue style waveforms as well as Additive and FM synthesis. A multimode filter, a Formant filter, 4 envelopes, 3 LFO etc etc. It;s a very powerful synth.. In another video I will go through the features one by one. Hope you enjoy."

Kilpatrick Phenol - Klaus Schulze Berlin School type sequence
Published on Jul 8, 2015 David Morley
"First day with my Kilpatrick Phenol. GREAT synth. No added effects or post production. Straight from the synth. Anyone who was on the fence about buying one, I would say go for it. For the money not much else comes close."
